Green Thickies are not only delicious, nutritious and filling but they are so quick to drink.  What more could you ask for a breakfast?

What is a Green Thickie?

A Green Thickie is a smoothie with oats to thicken it and fill you up, and Greens to provide you with the ultimate energising boost to your morning.

How is a Green Thickie delicious?

Green Thickie

Deceptively Delicious

Even though the thickie has greens in it such as Spinach, you can’t taste them at all as there is so much fruit that it overpowers the taste with fruity sweetness.

Why is a Green Thickie so healthy?

There is 100% natural healthy ingredients in the green thickie, and best of all you get to decide exactly what goes in it. It has greens which give you an energy boost and are bursting with essential nutrients to totally revamp your health.  It has fruit which also contains health promoting vitamins and minerals to give you energy and vitality.  What really turns a green smoothie into a green thickie is the addition of oats.  Not only do oats lower cholesterol, they also are extremely filling, keeping your blood sugars stable and keeping you going until your next meal.  A Green Thickie is a complete meal in a glass.

Will a Green Thickie help me to lose weight?

A green thickie will help you to lose weight as part of a balanced diet as it is low in fat.  Although it’s great for weight loss, you won’t believe you are on a diet if you drink Green Thickies as they are just so filling.

Is a Green Thickie good for kids?

Yes, green thickies are great for everyone especially kids.  Although some children are put off by the colour, you could try giving it to them in a coloured cup with a lid and straw, and once they discover how delicious they are, they won’t mind the colour of them.  Green Thickies have everything you need to provide a healthy balanced meal for your kids in one cup.  They are also really fast to drink so great for busy parents too.  They will give you enough energy to get through the day and still have enough energy to play with your kids.

How do I make a green thickie?

The best part is, they are really fast to make:

  • Fill half your blender jug with either water, or a combination of water and milk.  (I like to use oat, rice, soya or almond milk).
  • Add a pint of oats,
  • a handful of greens.  (I use a couple of frozen spinach blocks to save time),
  • a handful of fruit (I use frozen mango chunks as they are extra sweet, and don’t require any chopping),
  • a sprinkling of seeds (I like linseeds),
  • and if you like it extra seeds a handful of dried fruit such as raisins.
  • I also like to add a bit of desiccated coconut.  (Optional)

All this takes just a few minutes to whizz up in the blender and you have a large batch of Green Thickie for the whole family to share.  Green Thickies will also keep well in the fridge for a few days.

Let me know about your experiments with Green Thickies.
